In this day and age, many things call for our attention, and we have to decide wisely how we wish to use our leisure time. More and more children and even parents are deciding to spend their time with online games rather than playing games with each other. However, there are many more positives that come out of playing a game with the family versus playing an online game. First of all, online gaming allows only one person to play. With family games, everyone gets to join the fun. Virtual games end at best with virtual relationships. Family games lead to stronger, real family bonds. Family games are light-hearted and wholesome but online gaming tends to be violent and regard other crude subject matter. Little growth comes from online games. Family games encourage education, learning, as well as finding things out about one another. Family games are good for brief episodes of fun and then allow family members to bond in other ways. Be careful to not get so caught up in the game that you forget that you are playing with friends and family. Do not say things that you will feel bad for having said soon after. Do not tease excessively. If you do tease, really make sure the other player understands that you are not serious about such comments. Search for ways to make the other players feel good. Compliment, smile, and high-five them. Do not fret if you are losing. When the game is done, it is improbable that the other player will remember if you played poorly. They will remember if you were a poor sport. Look on the bright side of things and try to find humor in the situation. It is a good idea to switch up the games every now and again to not get too tired of any one.

Since they have such happy memories of these times, wayward children have been known to come back home at least for this evening to join the family togetherness.
